Cousins

We went down to the coast this past weekend to visit my brother and his family. As you all know, much of central and south Mississippi got snow, but what you may not have known is how much they got. This is a picture of just south of Jackson and it did not look like we were in MS at all. It was absolutely beautiful. My child loves her cousins. Everyone of them. She gets so excited to see them and she has remembered them for most of her life. These are some pictures of our ride down to the coast to see 2 of her cousins. My brother has 2 girls ages 8 and 5. This is on the way to see them.

This is when she got a little restless and needed some entertainment. She loves her reindeer antlers!

Here they are, in all their beauty. This was the first time they all got to sit together on this visit.

This was a picture taken on the way home. She was making us crazy, so we stuck her in the back of Pap's truck...... Just kidding, she needed a play break.

Sara Crawford's Christmas Program

Here it is ladies and gentlemen, Sara Crawford Logan's acting debut........

She just sat there! She had 10 people there to watch her sit! No jingling of the bells, no singing, no smiling, but there was also NO CRYING!!!!!!! YEA!!!!!!

Nashville

Here are a few pics of our recent trip to Nashville and the Opryland Hotel. We had tons of fun and we even got to see the Rockettes. It was wonderful and Sara Crawford really enjoyed it!

We went to the zoo in Jackson one Sunday afternoon. It has been years since we have been and I had no idea what to expect. I knew that Sara Crawford would love it, but would it really be worth the trip? This first picture is after the trip was over and we are on our way back to the car, as you can tell, she is still very excited! The giraffe was the first animal that we saw. I had no idea that she even knew what a giraffe was, but she sure did. She was calling it by name.
This picture was at the bear cage. The zoo had 3 bears in this cage. They didn't scare her, though. She was roaring at them. We had the best time that day, and dont' worry, the Jackson Zoo has tons of animals. If you have an afternoon, it is definetely worth the trip.

HAT!!!!

Sara Crawford is a fan of The Wiggles in a BIG way. She loves to watch them in the car, in the house, at her Grami's, at her Mimi's...where ever. The Wiggles have a segment sometimes in their shows where they try on all different kinds of hats. Now, it is one of her favorite things to do also. She also just enjoys saying the word over and over. She loves to put them on and take them off very quickly. She also likes to put them on me and have me dance around.

Another favorite of hers is to put them on over her eyes so that she can't see where she is going, like in this picture. She walks really fast around the house bumping into things and then she shakes with laughter.

This is my "gifted" child, you understand, so I know that there is a deeper meaning to madness!!!! HAHAHA!!!!

Happy Halloween

For our Halloween, we had lots of activities going on. First was Sara Crawford's trick or treating in downtown Greenwood and her party at school. Then, later we did some more trick-or-treating and then we had another party. And then.....she slept like a rock. We did our very best to sugar her up and wear her out. We were successful!!! I hope that all of you enjoyed you Halloween as well.
She was a Southern Miss cheerleader!!! Go Eagles!!!

Pack-Pack

These are pictures of Sara Crawford taking her last cup of the night, and yes, she is wearing her "pack-pack". This particular night she had to wear it to sit to take her last cup and she had to have it in her bed that night before she would lay down and sleep. This is the same child that just a few weeks ago cried at school every time I dropped her off!!! Kids are funny!

These are some pictures of Sara Crawford and her friends Presley and Preston. These children are twins and they attend church with us. They both take up so much time with her and are just the sweetest children that I have ever been around. The two of them were born very prematurely and they have 2 different kinds of cleft pallettes. They have had countless surgeries and endless problems, and they still have some of the best attitudes that I have ever dealt with. Recently, they had to have surgery on their sinuses, because they were still the size of babies' sinuses.

Please constantly remember these two as they face huge giants in the world. As they grow older, their difference in appearance becomes such a HUGE part of their lives. Just as with anything, I am so used to them and how wonderful they are, that I do not even notice that anything is different. It is growing increasingly hard on the two of them.
They are wonderful friends for Sara Crawford, because they are such great role models!

Pumpkin Party

Yesterday, a group from my church got together and we all took the kids to the Farmers Market and let each of them pick out a pumpkin. This first little pumpkin is Sara Crawford's first pumpkin to "help" decorate. What you did not get to see is the 3 times we actually had to decorate this tiny little thing, because my child did not quite get the concept of actually leaving the decorations on the pumpkin. We had a wonderful time.

Sara Crawford LOVES cookies!!! That is one word that, after her first taste, she has remembered with no problem. She says in two very distinct syllables (coo-key). On Saturday, I decided that she needed some variety in her cookie dining. I thought that an oreo would probably be a nice change for her. So, the result..... I think she likes them!!!!!

Who Knew?!?

So, Sara Crawford started school on September 2. She goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30-11:30. What could possibly go wrong? I mean she loves other kids, and music, and dancing. This is her dream come true, right?!? WRONG!!! It has been the most nerve-wracking experience of my life. "Just leave her, she will stop crying after a while." "She has to get used to it!" I have never been more overwhelmed with so many emotions in one day. The first day was "GREAT!", the second day was terrible. She cried the entire time that she was there. The third day was a touch better, and finally...the blessed fourth day there was FUN!!! My child actually had fun at school! WHO KNEW?!?!?!? School day jitters is the hardest thing that I have ever done.

This pic of Sara Crawford is at a Southern Living idea house that is in Taylor, just outside of Oxford. If you get the chance, it is worth the drive. We went yesterday and really had a good time!

Sara Crawford's 1st booboo

This a picture of S.C.'s first skinned knee. She fell in the parking lot at the church on Thursday afternoon, but don't worry, she's ok!!

Just a quick hello!

Yes we are still here and we have not fallen off the face of the planet! I have been a little busy with life and all that is included.

Do you ever feel like, "Why do we have a house...we are never here." Well, that is the case with us.

Welcome to Princess Sara Crawford's 1st Birthday Ball.
Here, she sits on her throne just right,
but soon enough she'll become quite a sight.
She loves cookies and chocolate and sweets galore,
but the cake is great, she wants more and more

What could the princess have done with her cake?

The only thing left is what's on her face.

And what else happens at a wonderful ball?

Dancing, of course, for the big and the small.

(Ann Carol Gnemi joins the party)

Oh, yes the party was quite the affair,

With 51 in attendance, there was no room to spare.

Yes, you're right her mother is crazy

and after that party she was left in a daze-y

We had tons of fun at Sara Crawford's first birthday. I hope that you guys enjoy our pics!

At first, miss priss did not quite understand this new developement of candles and everyone singing to her. She was a little confused.
Then, since we had been practicing blowing out the candle, she got a little more excited about the situation.
But, there has never been excitement of this kind in my sweet little girl's life. She was able to hold the cupcake by herself. Not just a cupcake of any kind, but a chocolate cupcake!!!! OH THE JOY!!!
After all the excitement died down a little, Sara Crawford realized that she still had this wonderful sweetness on her hands and fingers. Just like her mother, she just had to have EVERY LAST DROP!!!! What a BLAST!!!!
This was an update from S.C.'s church birthday party. There will also be an update on Monday from her other party on Sunday.

Sunflowers

I just wanted to add some new pics of Sara Crawford and explain them. Every year the Logans plant a field of sunflowers on their farm. We all take pictures in them every year. I thought that we should very well take the only baby girl in their family's picture, too.

Our First Blog

Hey everyone!
This is our first blog. We are so busy right now. Sara Crawford is turning one on Wednesday, July 23. We are having a small party for her after church on Wednesday night. We are also having a party for her at our house on Sunday, July 27th. We have been doing so much to our house trying to get ready for everyone to be out there. We have added a new patio and some brick work. We also have pictures this week for our first family portrait. Very exciting. I can not believe that we have a ONE YEAR OLD!!! Time flies.
